- College campus is spread over 5.5 acres of land. The hospital of college is providing the medical aid to the western part of Maharashtra State, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Kokan and some parts of Karnataka State.
- College has well-equipped laboratories for non-clinical subjects, well-furnished classrooms, Seminar Halls, Auditorium, Administrative block etc. The laboratories are equipped with modern and advanced equipments.
- College has excellent, highly qualified, devoted and dedicated faculty to guide the students even outside the classrooms, laboratories and hospital. To promote research activities and awareness among the faculty, there is an active Staff Research Centre, which discusses current research problems in health science teaching, methodology and emerging areas of research in clinical practices on regular basis.
- College library is well-stocked and consists of over 11000 volumes of different disciplines in health sciences. Library has also subscribed to 165 Indian and International journals and 120 e-journals. The Library has 4reading rooms with seating capacity of 200 at a time. The central library is also provided with internet facility for students and the faculty. Each department has its own Departmental Library.
- The Medical College also provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Hostels can accommodate 310 boys and 190 girls. Hostels are provided with excellent facilities. Each room is well-furnished and provided with bed, table, chair, ceiling fan and cupboard. Hostels are provided with security, hot water and the safe drinking water and other basic and modern amenities for students.

- For admission in postgraduate and Ph.D. courses such as for admission in M.Sc. in Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine, students must have passed B.Sc. in Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology, MBBS, and BHMS.
- For admission in M.Sc. in Environmental Health Sciences, students must have passed B.Sc. in Chemistry/Botany/Zoology/Microbiology/Biotechnology, Environmental Science, and MBBS.
- For admission in Medical Physics, students must have passed B.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Chemistry with Physics as subsidiary, A Degree in engineering science with strong physics content, MBBS, DMRD, and DMRT.
- For admission in Ph.D., students must have possess the degree of MD/MS/M.Sc. in related disciplines and for M.Sc. students minimum cut off marks is 55% marks.
- PG Specializations of 18 different courses for 51 seats are available in Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Admissions are based on the competitive entrance examination conducted autonomously by D.Y. Patil Education Society Deemed University.
For getting admission into PG Diploma, MD & MS Courses in the medical institution, the MBBS graduates have to qualify Common Entrance Test – conducted by D.Y. Patil Education Society Deemed University.
