NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria – All India Quota Seats

  • The candidates of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for the 15% All India Quota Seats since these states had opted out of this scheme from the beginning.
  • If any applicant belonging to these three states wants to claim eligibility to the 15% All India Quota Seats, then the applicant will have to submit an online Self Declaration which will be generated and printed on the confirmation page for the record and to is presented in the counselling.
  • Verification of the online Self Declaration will be done during the counselling process and if it is found to be false, the admission of the candidates will be cancelled and he/she may have to go through criminal proceedings.
  • If all eligibility criteria of NEET 2017 are fulfilled then candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir will be allowed to sit for NEET to get admission through the State Quota.

Lower Age Limit
The lower age limit is 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on December 31.

Upper Age Limit
The upper age limit is 25 years as on the date of examination.

Foreign/OCl/PIO/NRI
Foreingn/OCI/PIO/NRI candidates are allowed to appear in NEET 2017 and accordingly eligible for the 15% All India Quota NEET 2017 Counselling.
4.
  Nationality
Candidates must be Indian or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). OCI candidates are eligible for admission into state medical institutes based on the rules and regulations of the state.
5.
       Marks Required
General Category: Must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually. Should have obtained minimum 50% marks in the aggregate of the above mentioned subjects excluding English. OBC/SC/ST Category: Should have obtained minimum 40% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must have passed individually in the mentioned subjects along with English. PH/PWD Category: 45% marks or General –PH and 40% marks for SC-PH, ST-PH, OBC-PH candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs.

Applications for NEET 2017 will start tentatively in the 3rd week of Jan, 2017. Failure to fulfil any of the NEET 2017 eligibility criteria will lead to the disqualification of the candidate. NEET 2017 will be providing admission to the All India Quota Seats, State Government Quota Seats and Private/Management/NRI Quota Seats.
