About Us

In the year 1970 Nalanda Medical College was established by Dr. Vijay Narayain Singh,(MS. F.R.C.S) Dr. Madhusudan Das (MR Ch) & Dr. Shailendra Kumar Sinha ,(MS. F.R.C.S) along with Shri Krishna Kant Singh, the ex education minister of Bihar, with an idea to produce bright & young doctors to serve the suffering humanity. The classes started from 2nd April 1970 under the principalship of Dr. Shailendra Kumar Sinha ,(MS. F.R.C.S) In the beginning 150 students were taking admission. In the year 1978 it was taken over by Govt. of Bihar and was recognized by Medical Council of India. The Student intake was reduced to 50 and were selected by various state and central govt. competitive examination In the journey of four decades, the College as well as Hospital has developed immense potential and Doctors from NMCH are serving not only in India but abroad as well.

Courses Offered :

GRADUATE PROGRAMMES MBBS POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES MD   MS   Eligibility : 4 ½ Years and 1 years compulsory Routine Internship total intake 100 student per years . Admission to this course is through a competitive Exam conducted by Govt. of Bihar, through BCECE and also some seat through AIPMT conducted by CBSE Board  Hostels : Nalanda Medical College has 3 Hostel for acomodating students of undergraduate & Post-graduate courses.. There are Two hostels are for boys and 1 hostel is for girls. These hostels have adequate capacityand are equipped with facilities like mess and proper security. There is also facility for accomodation of Post-graduate girl students adjacent to the Doctors quaters. Hostel for Interns & Residents is located in the campus of NMC Hospital at Agamkuan.. Hostel  for Boys & Girls of 200 seats each are under construction
