Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Medical College, Rajkot was started in June 1995. It now admits 150 (100 Recognised and 50 Permitted) students per year and is the fastest growing medical college of Gujarat with the target of providing sub speciality education in 15 branches of Medicine & Surgery. It is affiliated to Saurashtra University, Rajkot.The Civil hospital complex at Rajkot actually has the following hospitals with a total inpatient capacity of 750 beds. Services Available : Laboratory with blood separation unit, Radiology department - ultrasonography, routine x-rays, CT scan (provided through the ORET project), Postpartum unit, infertility treatment, Physiotherapy department (equipments provided through the ORATE project), Surgery - urology, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, endoscopic surgery, District handicap rehabilitation center - caters to persons with visual, ENT, orthopedic, psychiatric handicaps by providing them training & free equipments.
